UC Schools Win Top Honors at the Colors of the Rainbow Competition at NJPAC

 Congratulations to our Union City Schools that competed at the Dancing Classrooms, Colors of Rainbow Competition at NJPAC in Newark on June 8th.

These students have learned and perfected the art of following dances:  

Yellow team dancing tango     Tango,     Foxtrot,   Rumba,    Merengue      & Swing  

 During the competition, they displayed ballroom etiquette and the styles of these dances in order to gather the necessary points and become one of the winners.  It was a tough competition as we were competing against schools from Newark, Palisade Park and Jersey City.  So it is an honor to announce that Union City won in the following categories:

Our teachers Ms. Caitlyn Loew and  Ms. Viviana Piedrahita from Colin Powell, Ms. Jenilee Marrero, Ms. Stefany Repta, Ms. Nicole Biagiotti and Mrs. Susan Aziz from Edison School and Ms. JoAnna Castiello and Mrs. Carmen Lugo from Washington School who worked so diligently with the ballroom dancers throughout these months.   

Our Fine and Performing Arts Supervisor- Mrs. Mirtha Serret,  Superintendent of Schools Mrs. Silvia Abbato and our principals - Mrs. Teresita Diaz from Colin Powell, Mr. Eliseo Aleman from Edison  and Mrs. Les Hanna from Washington for making these programs possible in our schools.
